WASHINGTON, D.C./August 07, 2026 – The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) announces that Charles N. Baldis has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the Special Counsel of OSC.
Mr. Baldis is currently Chief Counsel at OSC after having served from April 2025 to May 2026 as Senior Counsel to Acting Special Counsel Jamieson Greer. Mr. Baldis’ tenure at OSC has given him deep operational insight into the agency's mission and prepared him to serve as the Special Counsel. Prior to his time at OSC, Mr. Baldis was a staffer for Senators Grassley and Graham on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Before that, he was a prosecutor in Virginia. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law and Liberty University.
“I am deeply honored and grateful to President Trump for nominating me to serve as Special Counsel of OSC,” said Mr. Baldis. “I am thankful for the Senate’s confirmation and the confidence it represents, and I look forward to continuing OSC’s vital work.”
